Booking policy

Three possible outcomes

Not every job can be slotted into a fixed time in advance, so booking online has three possible results. The one you get is shown on your booking confirmation.

Confirmed

Your appointment is booked. Nothing further is needed from you. Arrive at the time shown.

Pending shop approval

Your request is in, and someone at the shop needs to confirm it before it is final. You will hear back about it. Treat the time as provisional until you do.

Request received

Some work cannot honestly be given a time slot before anyone has seen the vehicle, major engine and transmission concerns in particular. In that case your details are recorded and the shop will contact you to arrange it properly. No time is claimed, because claiming one would be a guess.

Waiting versus dropping off

Some services can be waited for; others are drop-off. Where the shop needs the vehicle for an uninterrupted stretch, and brake work and diagnostics especially, it is a drop-off, because a proper inspection cannot be rushed to fit a waiting room.

Where you are given an arrival window rather than an exact time, that window is when to bring the vehicle in. It is not an estimate of when the work will be finished.

Timing of the work itself

Booking a time reserves your place. It is not a promise of when the work will be complete, because that depends on what is found and on parts availability. The shop will tell you what it knows once the vehicle has been looked at.

Changing or cancelling

Call the shop on 613-596-6300. Letting the shop know in good time frees the slot for someone else, which matters most in the seasonal tire changeover rush when appointments are scarce.

If your chosen time is no longer available

Appointment times can be taken by someone else while you are filling in the form. If that happens you will be told, your details will be kept, and you will be asked to pick another time. You will never be silently moved to a different appointment.
